While the United States is still trying to catch up with tankless water heater technology, other parts of the world are moving on to an even more efficient way of heating water…through solar water heaters. While solar water heaters can only be used when the sun is shining (while a backup electrical water heater is used when the sun isn’t out), they can still cut energy use in half in many parts of the world; which is something that the United States could desperately use in California and places along the East Coast.

Below is a video about how people in China have utilized this solar technology to cut their costs in heating water. The first person in the video is the mayor of a city called Rizhao, explaining how most of the buildings in his city use solar water heaters. The second person is someone who uses a solar water heater to heat the water in his house.

If you have ever wanted to take a hot shower while camping, now you can! Portable tankless hot water heaters are great for camping, cottages, cabins, RV’s, boats, pools, work shops, ect. They aren’t too big (most are about the size of a briefcase), and they aren’t too heavy (around 8 to 15 pounds), which makes them very easy to tote around.

So what is the best way to get a tankless water heater review? The best way is to talk to independent plumbers who have at least a few years of experience in this particular field (in other words they have the proper certifications to install and repair tankless water heaters). They will give you the most honest, and likely the most accurate, reviews you can find.

Keep in mind that tankless water heaters are more complicated to install than traditional water heaters. Due to this, it would be best to hire a plumber who is certified in tankless water heater installation (not all plumbers are certified in this area, as tankless water heater installation requires a special certification).
